Access your child's health records, message your provider, and manage appointments — from any device.
When you download the healow app and it asks for a practice code or phone number, enter our code: IAIFBA. This links your app to American Pediatrics so your child's records appear correctly.
Your child's record must be "web-enabled" by our staff before you can set up the portal. If you haven't received a welcome email yet, call your office and ask the front desk to web-enable your child — they'll need your current email address on file. The welcome email usually arrives within a few minutes.
Look for an email from American Pediatrics (or eClinicalWorks) containing your child's unique username and a setup link. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within 10 minutes.
The link opens our portal on any web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox — they all work). You'll be asked to confirm your phone number. A 6-digit verification code is sent to that phone by text. Enter the code to continue.
Choose a password you'll remember. Pick a security question so you can reset your password later if needed. Save the username from the welcome email — you'll need it every time you log in.
The portal will show a consent agreement describing how your child's information is shared securely. Review it, check the box, and click Agree. You're in.
Save this link in your browser so you can log in quickly in the future: American Pediatrics Patient Portal →
The healow app connects to an account that already exists. If you haven't completed the Web Portal Setup tab yet, please do that first — it only takes a few minutes, and then the app configures in seconds.
Available free for iPhone and Android. Look for the turquoise "healow" icon — the app name is lowercase.
Tap Get Started, then choose "Find my Doctor." Enter our practice code IAIFBA or search for "American Pediatrics" by phone number. Tap our practice when it appears.
Use the same username and password you created during the web portal setup. The app will confirm your identity once and remember it.
Instead of typing your password every time, the app lets you log in with a PIN (or Face ID / Touch ID on newer phones). Pick something memorable.
Tap through the colored wheel to see appointments, medications, lab results, messages, vitals, and more. Everything on the web portal is here, plus some mobile-only features.
You can link all your children into a single healow app login, but only on the mobile app. The web portal requires you to log in and out separately for each child. That's why we recommend the app for families with more than one child — it's genuinely the easiest way to manage everyone.
Before anything else, make sure each child has their own portal account set up (using the "Web Portal Setup" steps above). Each child has a unique username, but you can use the same email address for all of them. We recommend this — it keeps everything organized.
Complete the full app setup for one child — enter our practice code IAIFBA, sign in, set your PIN. You're in.
This is the step where most parents get stuck. From inside a child's profile, there's a "Link another account" button — do not tap that. It's meant for linking a child's records at a different doctor's office, not for adding a sibling.
On the welcome screen, choose Begin Now and repeat the setup with your second child's username and password. After adding them, the app will list both children.
Tap your child's name or initials at the top of the screen to open a list of all your children. Tap any child to switch to their records instantly — no logging in and out, no retyping passwords.
The app has no limit on how many children you can link. Repeat the log-out → Begin Now process for each additional child. Once they're all added, you'll see all of them in the account switcher at the top.
Yes — and we actually recommend it. Each child gets their own unique username and password, but sharing one email makes setup and password recovery much simpler. The healow app works best this way too.
Both work. The web portal runs in any browser on any device — computer, phone, or tablet. The healow app is a mobile companion that makes day-to-day use easier and is the only way to manage multiple children from a single login.
Most families use both: the web portal for billing and printing (features the app doesn't have), and the app for everything else.
It's a limitation of the platform. The web portal is designed for individual patient records, while the healow app is built for families. If you only use the web, you'll need to log out of one child and log in as another. The app is the simple fix.
First, check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, please call your office. The front desk can confirm we have the right email address and re-send the welcome message.
On the portal login page, click Forgot password? to reset it via email. In the app, tap Trouble logging in? on the sign-in screen. If you're still stuck, healow also provides direct support at 1-866-888-6929, or you can call your office.
Yes. Both parents can share one account (same username and password), or each parent can request their own login by submitting a proxy consent form. Ask the front desk at your next visit and we'll set it up.
Yes. California allows adolescents to have their own patient portal access starting at specific ages for certain types of records. Speak with your provider about setting this up — we'll help you configure the right level of parent and adolescent access for your family.
Yes. The portal and healow app use bank-level encryption and are fully HIPAA-compliant. Your PIN, Face ID, or Touch ID protects the app on your phone. Only people you've granted access to can see your child's information.
No. Both the web portal and the healow app are completely free for our patients.
Our front-desk team can walk you through setup over the phone or at your next visit. We're happy to help.
